Suggest Treatment For PCOS
Question: Hi,
I am suffering from pcos and consulting infertility specialist to get conceived.I am taking melmet sr 500 daily 2 times for past 5 months & doctor told me to continue it along with siphene 100mg from D3-D7. On 8th day, i had a scan and the results were ET=8.5mm,RO follicles = 12*11mm,10*11mm &LO=small follicles.I had a scan today(Day 11)and it showed ET=4mm, RO follicles = 17*18mm,17*15mm,14*13mm &LO =14*12mm.Doctor told am responding well & will give injection to trigger egg rupture tomorrow. She said Endometrium thickness is less and prescribed progynova & ecosprin for 5 days. Our doubt is endometrial thickness was fine on day 8 and then how it got reduced suddenly? Also since this is the first cycle with clomid should we wait and see will it rupture without injection? With clomid it says ideal size shud be 18*20mm for egg release,so tomorrow is too early for an injection? Also there are 2-3 follicles matured then is there a chance of conceiving with more than one? Please help.
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Endometrial thickness could not have reduced so fast. There must be wrong measurements. Please confirm these findings from another scan centre.
The average size of follicles need to be around 18 mm average size. Hence you can wait for another day before trigger injections.
The chance of pregnancy increases if there are more than one follicle.

Thanks for your response doctor !!That was really helpful. We have one more doubt - I took hcg injection for egg rupture on 24th and had a ultrasound scan today but doctor says the egg is not yet ruptured. We are very much confused with the scan results because on Day 12 it was ET= 7MM,LO=16*15mm ,RO=19*19mm,20*17mm and on Day 14(today) it is ET=6mm,RO=22*19mm,15*14mm ,LO = 19*19mm.We feel there is something wrong with the measurements because now only one dominant follicle is there in RO. Where does the other one vanished? Should we continue with this treatment and wait to see the whether the follicle is rupturing? What could be the cause of non rupture?Do we need to take anyother medication to make it rupture? Please help.
Brief Answer:
second opinion
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As I told you earlier I guess you need to take second opinion from another scan centre or infertility Specialist.
The follicle should have ruptured. Ask scan doctor to look for free fluid in POD which indicates rupture of follicles.
If follicles have not ruptured they might need another inj. hCG
