Suggest Treatment For PTSD And Pulmonary Hypertension

Please provide details
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM
You have been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and had atrial septostomy and was hospitalised with continuous oxygen. You have recurrent depressive disorder with 4 suicidal and about 3.5 years back you got admitted to a mental hospital. Currently you are on Sildenafil, Furosemide, thyroxin, levocetrizine, simvasatin, losartan, codeine paracetamol etc drugs. You are also taking Qutiapine (Seroquel), Escitalopram, Diazepam. Diazepam is on SOS basis and Zopiclone in night.
Now I have read your history and I can understand your concern. The main psychiatric issues are PTSD, depression and suicidal issues.
First of all I would like to know few things before proceeding to management and discussion-
- What was the reason for PTSD? How the disorder developed? Were you alright before the trauma?
- Is cardiac surgery and hospitalisation has anything to do with aggravation of symptoms of depression?
- If any family support available at home or you doesnt want to talk about this?
- If you still have self harm or suicidal ideas? If recently you have tried to self harm yourself?
- Any thing that brings happiness to your mood?
- Why are you considering yourself as pain to doctors?
- If the psychiatric medicines resulted in improvement or not?
- Whether you have other symptoms like poor social interaction, poor self care, lack of motivation?
Please mention these in follow up question so that we can proceed further.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
