Question: I was diagnosed with Staph Aureus in my nose. I am having chronic problems with my throat, feeling like I am being strangled every day. a lot of phlegm. very annoying

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Staph aureus will be cleared by augmentin which you are taking. GERD if you have should be controlled by therapy with Proton pump inhibitors like rabeprazole. Prilosec is not much effective. Domperidone along with this helps also.

You can also take vitamin C regularly in small dose like 100 mg per day. Gargling of throat should be done morning and night (before sleep as well as after getting up from sleep). Also keep water in mouth while bathing. Avoid too cold and too hot drinks. Keep your mouth and tongue clean always. These measures will helpful to prevent throat problems and phlegm.
