Brief Answer:
Detail below.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You are taking good medicines for UTI, so you should have relief. Fluconazole is an antifungal and cefuroxime is an antibiotic. First you should finished antibiotic course.

Second you can do following -
Drink plenty of fluids
Cranberry juice has been shown to be useful in fighting this infection.
You can take a urine alkalinizing agent like disodium hydrogen citrate
Take a pain-relieving medication.
Use a hot-water bottle to ease pain
Avoid coffee, alcohol, and spicy foods, all of which irritate the bladder.
Quit smoking. Smoking irritates the bladder and is known to cause bladder cancer.
If you don't get relief in 2-3days than it would be best if you get a urine culture and sensitivity done in order to identify the bacterium and know which antibiotic it is susceptible to.

I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health.

How about for my vaginal concerns? i’m really worried about it and how would I know if after the medications, Im 100% free from it?

The Infection started after I had unprotected sex with my fiancee of . He’s been the same partner Ive had for 2 years and we only see each other yearly. But ive noticed that everytime I have sex with him, I get sick. Last year its UTI alone, and now its vaginal infections with UTI.

Ilive in a country where there’s prejudice with this kinds of concerns and there’s not much action to it especially to expatriates as it can lead us to deportation. So Im very thankful for you help doctor. What can I do to make sure this will not come back or show up again?

Brief Answer:
Avoid intercourse till fully treated.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

After starting the proper antibiotics it takes 3-4 days for the symptoms to subside. In case the pain and bumps or burning are persistent then may be you need a combination of antibiotics after a vaginal swab culture to have relief.

Herpes also needs to be ruled out after a blood test.
To avoid any recurrence your partner also needs a complete treatment with antibiotics after a urine test. Do get your blood sugar levels evaluated to rule out diabetes.

Hope my answer is helpful. Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.

Thank you doctor. I have been checked today and I wa diagnosed with herpes. Which makes me sad and depressed because I had only been with one guy and this happened.

Doctor, do you have any tips for me for living with this condition? Things that I should and should NOT do. Will I be able to live a normal life and have a baby in the future?

Brief Answer:
You can lead a normal life.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Herpes can remain dormant for years and once an acute attack is treated you can lead a normal life and get pregnant. No need to worry. You get this infection treated under the guidance of your gynecologist.

You can have sex also after the active lesions are treated as the chances of transmission in dormant stage are minimal.
