I did include the culture results in my question. The sensitivity report is what indicated changing to Cipro. You mention taking the antibiotics 2-3 weeks. Cipro is a antibiotic with substantial side effects for older patients--such as possible cardiac arrhythmias and tendon rupture. These were mentioned to me by the health provider. Doesn't sound like a medication that one can stay on for a long period of time. Have you found these to be true side effects? Is Citrobacter Koseri rare as a UTI organism and is it difficult to clear?
Brief Answer:
Side effects you mentioned are known but rare
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks fr follow up .
keeping in mind the side effects of Ciprofloxacin I had asked for complete culture and sensitivity report so as to suggest any other antibiotic. These are known side effects of Ciprofloxacin but are very rare and mainly occur after long term use .
In majority of cases UTI is due to E-coli organisms compared to Citrobacter Koseri which is less common.
Thanks and Regards.
