Brief Answer:
Need some help from you first sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to start by asking you what exactly you meant by a scratch sir? Did you itch the region because of an insect bite, or was there a wound which was itchy, or any other cause that lead you to itch the region? Or was it a scratch from an object like the corner of a table, sharp or blunt objects, etc.? Please do elaborate for my better understanding sir. Thank you so much for your information sir.

Please also let me know if you have injured the region again, or scratched it again or itched it when it got itchy? Have you had a history or poor healing wounds or bruises? Do you have a family history of any blood conditions? Do you have any current diagnosed chronic conditions? Are you on any medications, if so please write back to me with a list of their names sir.

Looking forward to your response to help you further sir.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like a bruise to me sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Thank you so much for that information sir.

It sounds like a bruise to me sir., at times you can suffer such bruises which you do not realise you got. You could take a picture of the affected region if you are comfortable with doing so and upload it to our discussion so I could view it.

For now, I would like to ask you if a blood panel for your coagulation profile was conducted? If it was and was normal, then there is nothing to worry about. If it was not conducted, I would recommend a blood coagulation profile sir.

In the meantime, if there is no pain then I would just suggest a few minor things:
-Apply ice to the affected region
-Keep the affected region elevated as much as possible to avoid pooling of blood in the region
-If you can feel a lump in the region, then this could be a hematoma (accumulation of blood) which may have to be drained by a doctor (minor procedure)
-Avoid friction, scratching, hurting the affected region to promote early healing

I hope you find my response helpful sir. if the coagulation profile returns a normal result (which I am hoping it does), then there is absolutely nothing to worry about sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help you sir.

Best wishes.

I had a cbc which was normal is that what you mean

Answered by Dr. Shoaib Khan (11 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No sir, they are different; need this test sir

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.

A CBC does not cover a coagulation profile. A coagulation profile would include BT (bleeding time), PT (prothrombin time), INR (international normalised ratio) and PTT (plasma thromboplastin time); please request your doctor for this as we require these results to make sure yours is just a bruise and nothing more.

Hope this information is clear sir. Please do write back to me with the reports when you get them.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Yes dampness and friction can certainly cause it

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

I am glad it has cleared up and hope such a presentation does not recur, but if at all you get any other such bruises again sir please report to your doctor for a check on your blood coagulation profile as I have suggested in my previous responses.

Hoping and praying you enjoy nothing but good health always. If you have any clarifications, you can always write to me.

Best of luck sir.

Also can chronic sinuses cause blood to be in saliva. I have had it off and on for 9 months. Just when I spit not sneeze nor cough or eat just randomly spit. It happens maybe once a week but I spit 2 or 3 times and tge spit returns to clear I also believe I gave gingivitis when this happens afterward my nose gets clogged up and my eyes are always puffy

Brief Answer:
Yes of course sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Yes of course sinusitis is one of the conditions that can present in such a manner, but there are other conditions also to consider like:

-Irritation of the respiratory tract
-Upper respiratory infections
-Bronchitis
-Allergies
-Acid reflux causing upper respiratory tract abnormalities
and a few others.

But as you have sinusitis (which you mentioned is chronic), then addressing the condition should provide you much relief sir. Please speak to an ENT specialist about the available treatment options.

Hope this helped sir. Please do not hesitate to write back to me anytime, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

So you don't think it sounds like cancer?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shoaib Khan (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
I do not suspect that

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

No, cancer is not an option, especially not without extensive investigations. For now, I would not include it in the list at all sir. Either a respiratory or last option would be an upper gastric condition, nothing more.

Hope this helps.

Take care.

Thank you sir. My doctor thinks it's from allergies and sinuses. I'm a hypochondriac I always worry about cancer however had a cbc metabolic test and and another basic one 3 months ago at a yearly and they came back fine I also have gained 20 pounds over the last 2 years so I feel like if I had cancer I would lose weight and my blood test would have had some kind of abnormality

Brief Answer:
Self-awareness is the key

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.

Of course weight loss is one of the more common symptoms of cancer, and what I would like to highlight in your response is your self-awareness. You know you are a hyppchondriac which in itself helps immensely.

Being precautious has no harm to it and going about regular health check ups is also a good thing, so do not worry about anything. I agree with your doctor and am sure you are an otherwise healthy young man who is worrying about things that are not present. Go out and enjoy life as much as possible.

Wishing you nothing but good luck, health, wealth and all the happiness there is.

Best of luck sir.
