Question: I am 44 male. Just a few days ago I noticed out of nowhere a bright red non-itchy spot on the head of my penis. It started out about the size of a pencil eraser and no is about the size of a dime. There is just the one spot, no irritation, itching and it is not raised. I'm concerned about what it might be...

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed non itching lesion over glans penis .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) did you have unprotected sex very recently ?
This is most likely to be due to infection of Glans penis (Ballanitis).

This is most likely to be due to infection of Glans penis (Ballanitis).

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefotaxime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.

I have scheduled an appointment with a dermatologist because they returned my call sooner.

I've also had several irritated spots appear on my upper left leg and lower right leg that itch, so, I feel a dermatologist might be the best for now.

I've yet to see a difference in using the neosporin with the possible balanitis, when should I start to see improvement based upon you experience?
