Suggest Treatment For A Growing Itchy Spot That Has Become Quite Sore
Fungal infection. Oral and topical antifungal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You seem to have a fungal infection - Tinea. I can see dry patches with red, raised, expanding margins and central clearing. Fungal infection is usually itchy. Sweat, heat and humidity as factors that favor fungal infection. If i was the treating doctor i would suggest you to use either ketoconazole 2% cream or miconazole nitrate 2% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks. In addition I would recommend an oral antifungal e.g either Itraconazole or Terbinafine or Fluconazole 2-4 weeks. These are prescription medications.
You may use an OTC topical antifungal e.g. clotrimazole 1%cream, twice daily till the time you have your appointment with the dermatologist. You may also take an OTC oral antihistamine e.g Tab cetirizine 10mg once a day for symptomatic relief from itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Hi,
Weight gain predisposes to skin fungal infections as do heat, sweat and humidity. Anyways, this should resolve with the medications I suggested.
