Suggest Treatment For A Lump On The Elbow

Question: Thank you. I've noticed a lump on the outside of my right elbow. There's no pain at all. No restriction in arm movement. No redness. It feels soft to the touch, like there was some kind of very small water balloon. When I rest arm on a desk I can feel it in that it's like there's extra flesh there. But again no pain. Should I get this checked out right away (I'm going on a family vacation at the end of this week for a week and was wondering if it could be put off until after). It was first noticeable a couple of days ago. Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Possibly lipoma or sebaceous cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the query at HealthcareMagic,
The lump you are describing could be a lipoma or a sebaceous cyst. Confirmation of diagnosis is by physical examination.
Both these conditions are benign and do not require immediate medical attention.
You can follow up with your primary care provider after the vacation. Both these conditions can be left alone with watchful waiting or removed surgically.
