
Suggest Treatment For A Mass In The Uterus

Question: My mother is 84. She has been in hospital for 4 weeks with fluid in her legs, which has now moved to her stomach. Yesterday she had a scan and they found something on her uterus. What is the chance of it being cancer? She has had no bleeding. And if it is what treetment is there. She cannot havs an anesthetic as her heart and kidneys are very weak.

I am so sorry to hear about what your mother is experiencing and this disturbing finding on CT. Most uterine masses are not cancerous and as such i will suggest that we wait for a biopsy and its results to conclude. Best treatment for any possible cancer is surgery but with weak kidneys and hear, we may be left only with the option of drugs if this were to be confirmed as being cancer. However, am unlikley to see it confirmed as a malignant lesion than a benign as most of them are benign.
