Suggest Treatment For A Partial Visual Impairment In An Elderly Person

Question: My mother can not see in one half of one eye. She is 88.she said that that eye had not felt right for 4-5 days. she has been having a lot of matter in the corner of her eye. She is taking Plavix.
She has had cataract surgery. One eye had to have a film removed from the contact. She had a eye doc visit 6 months ago and they did not see a problem with the eye that is half blacked out, currently.
She had bleeding in one eye 3-4 years ago. They/took her off baby asprin at that time. She has had a XXXXXXX stroke in past
I need to know if my Mother should go to ER instead of me waiting for an answer from you. It has been an hour already. I live 120 miles away from Her!!!! Your screen indicated someone was ready to answer my questions. Please send some me a message, so I know it is being checked out.

Brief Answer:
Needs urgent management, Should go to the ER
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
This looks like a urgent problem and we will be keen not to wait and consult at a later appointment.
There can be many reasons for such partial field defect, more so envolving the brain, simething like a XXXXXXX stroke. Why i personally would like her to be attended immediately is since very accurate diagnosis by us is not feasible, i will prefer something progressive to be ruled out.In all probability,we may find that it is a non progressive issue, but we would like to err on the safer side.
There is no cause of panic but being sunday,do make arrangements for her to be examined at the earliest.
