Suggest Treatment For A Small Rash On The Wrist

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: I have a small rash. It's on my wrist. It is red and round, about 1/2 inch in diameter. At first, it was just there, no pain or discomfort. After several weeks, it started to burn a bit. Then it blistered. I put Cortizone 10 cream on it with a bandaid and it faded to pink. When I took the bandaid off, it started to come back to red and irritated. I have lupus, which manifested as hives all over my body, but am taking plaquenil and that has worked for years. I don't think that this rash is related, but I'm not sure. I've been aware of it for a little over a month now.

Brief Answer:
Please upload an image.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query but would really want to get a look at the rash. I would request you to upload an image of the affected area. Till then it might be a good idea to refrain from using Cortizone cream.

The rash could be due to a fungal infection and if that is the case application of candid (clotrimazole) lotion topically should help.

Regards
