Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Bloating And Pain
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: elderly mom has symptoms of spleen pain (pain moves around front under ribs/bra line began on the right then over time moved to all across the front and now is for days been only on the left side spleen area; accompanied by bloating that gets a bit better and comes back all in same day, for weeks now. she also has some mouth sores. What can we do? She went to hospital a couple weeks ago for "less than TIA, elderly spell" but the persistent bloating has been going on for more than that, ever since she left hospital after a fall that hurt her spine over 6 weeks ago. Care givers just thought she was constipated. Her stomach has no blockage per tests a couple weeks ago.
Brief Answer:
Try omeprazole!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for contacting us at healthcare magic.
I have reviewed this information fully and it is suggestive of possible gastritis. I will recommend that she tales omeprazole 20mg daily and let’s see the response. If she gets better, then we would pursue. If she doesn’t, I will suggest that she gets an upper endoscopy to look at the stomach and esophagus. This will help diagnose acid problems that seem to explain most of her symptoms.
I hope this helps. I await updates in about 48-72hours after this trial of omeprazole. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
Kind regards!
