Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Bloating
Just wanted to let you know that my stomach pain continues but has improved. I feel bloated with gas after eating but walking and taking an over-the-counter med for gas helps. I sometimes feel an itch on my right side but that has lessened after taking a laxative. I was really concerned it may be from hepatitis b but the symptoms are not as bad now. My viral load was less than 100IU/ml a month ago. Is there anything I can do to help reduce the bloating and abdominal pain? I do not want to take something that may hurt my liver. I was constipated too but the laxative really helped. The pains do not keep me awake. I sleep well. Should I reduce caffeine?
Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for your query.
I am glad to know that your symptoms has been improved.
As I read on your previous queries , you have near 10 days on medication.
So your symptoms will improve more after a longer treatment.
With regards to caffeine use , it aggravates the symptoms of IBS and can cause bowel movement changes.
This is why it is better if you stop using it slowly.
Firstly you should decrease the dosage of caffeine intake and after a couple of days you can stop using it.
You are reporting to have gas and bloating, it is not related with hepatitis B infection.
It is related with IBS or a side effect of stool softener . I would suggest to avoid foods that produces gas like broccoli and beans.
It is important too to avoid air swallow during meal.
Continue to use simeticone to avoid gass and bloating.
Wish you helath!
