![default](/r/images/default.png)
My son is 4 and half month old. He is on Lactogen 1 milk. Due to my wife not giving mothers milk and she stopped it after 40 days saying that she is not getting milk.
1. I want to know Can we shift him to XXXXXXX milk available in grocery store and with some cereals?
2. If he gets any stomach pain or loose motions? Which medicine should we give?
Please advise

I won't recommend to give cow (nandini)milk
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform
I can understand your concern. The best milk for baby is the mother milk. But for any reason if breastmilk is not available I recommend to use formula milk with proper dilution.
Cow milk should not be given to the babies till one year of age.The cow milk contains high amount of proteins and minerals which can cause stress to the kidney. Also this protein can lead to cow milk protein allergy(rashes, respiratory illness, vomiting, loose stool).Cow milk lacks some vitamins and iron which is supplemented in the formula milk.
So I suggest you to give formula milk (lactogen1) till six months of age.Start complementary feed like rice water, dal water, mashed potato, boiled apple from 6 months of age.
Monitor the growth of baby.I wont get overly worried if baby thrives well and there is no significant complaints.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Regards
