Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Vomiting

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Sep 2017
Question: Hi, about 14 hours ago my upper body started having tremors that start and stop one after the other now making it hard to type. My stomach has been upset all day and I stated vomiting about 2 hours after the tremors started. I haven't been able to keep anything down even water. I tried a little apple sauce and deputed apple juice, but nothing stays down. My stomach is now very boated and the pain is worse on the lower left. Any ideas? The more I kept typing the tremors were less frequent and not as severe. I keep trying sips of seltzer water, but after about 8 ounces in about an hour I vomit it all back up with bile and the tremors got worse again.

Hi,
Firstly thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.

As per your query most likely you are having gastroenteritis.Gastroenteritis is inflammation of gastric mucosa. Most commonly its viral. As the mucosa layer is inflammed there is soasmodic pain in abdomen. The inflammed intestines fails to absorb and digest food properly.Usually it limits itself in 7-10 days.

Test suggested are-

Intially i would advice you to go for stool routine and microscopy test to rule out to rule out Bacterial or Protozoal infection. As therapy with antibiotic has to be taken if its bacterial or protozoal enteritis.

Trenors are due to electrolyte imbalance hence try to drink lots of water and oral rehydration solution.
Take imodium(Loperamide)upto 16 mg per day.

I would suggest you to take a probiotic twice daily. It repletes the disturbed gastric flora hence making digestion better.

An antispasmodic like dicyclomine 10 mg thrice daily can be taken to decrease the spasmodic pain in intestines.

Food suggestion-

Eat light and easily digestible food.
Avoid meat.
Try boiled food(Vegetables) with spices and herbs for a week.
Drink plenty of orange juice and coconut water.
