Suggest Treatment For Acid Eructation And Frequent Belching
Question: Good day. My daughter is 16 years old has been burping frequently. Last night she burped and some acid came up in her throat. She has been dealing with heartburn for a while. Is there anything I should be concerned about?
Brief Answer:
Upper GI endoscopy advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Your daughter has acid eructation. It may be due to GERD. It would be good to an upper GI endoscopy to see if there's any problem like laxity of XXXXXXX ( lower esophageal sphincter ) or Barrett's esophagus.
Her symptoms would be relieved by PPI and prokinetic agents which the doctor may prescribe.
Wish you both a good day and good health
