Brief Answer:
Please kindly provide some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Can you please tell me where is the pain localized? Over the belly button or around it?
Also, how can you describe the pain? Is it radiating somewhere?
When was the last time that you had a bowel movement?
Do you have fever?
Diarrhea? Vomiting?
Why you say that gas is an ongoing issue? Can you give a bit more information about your past problems with bowel, if any?
Have you tried any medication?

I know there are a lot of questions, but I need to understand more about that pain before I give advice that are not accurate, because I don't have enough information.
Looking forward to your follow-up question.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako

When I first wrote, pain was a 5 - 6 level about at lower ribcage level. Now has subsided to a 2 - 3, more of a pressure in the abdomen than actual pain, as if I need to have a bowel movement or vomit. I do feel the pain when I take a deep breath. Not really a radiating pain.

Had a bowel movement this morning.

No fever, no diarrhea, no vomiting. I tried to vomit, but nothing would come up. Unsuccessfully tried a bowel movement as well.

Have had occasional issues with gas, mainly late evening and at night for past month or so. Seems associated with eating a snack after dinner. That gas is accompanied by a bilateral ache at the mid-back level.

No previous bowel problems.

Have not tried any medication.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Probably temporary pain. You need to be followed. If worse follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up question.

It seems a usual bowel movement problem.
I would recommend to not eat snacks after dinner, if your bowel reacts like that after. Avoid foods that cause gasses and eat lots of fluids and vegetables.

Also, taking Omeprazole 20mg, every morning before food can be helpful, because since the symptoms are related with food, it may be something originated by the stomach.

Drink plenty of fluids.
Avoid smoking or alcohol.
Let me know if your problem took another course, but to me seemed something temporary.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
