Suggest Treatment For Acid Reflux And Chronic Laryngitis
Chronic laryngitis, Acid Reflux.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. If your gastroendoscopy and nasal endoscopy is within normal limits, there is no cause for worry.
2. Routine medication will settle down this condition which is most likely to be a combination of acid reflux and chronic laryngitis.
3. Some of the common causes for chronic laryngitis include infection (viral, bacterial or fungal), resistant infections, acid reflux, sinusitis/ post nasal drip (due to the cold), mouth breathing, environmental dust/ pollution, chalk dust allergy and community acquired infections.
4. Voice rest, especially during hoarsenes, is important. Anti-allergic, anti-reflux, anti-inflammatory medication and medicated gargles should be taken. Sometimes steroids (oral and local sprays) are necessary. Home remedies such as turmeric in warm milk, honey & ginger are recommended. Diet should be bland and keep yourself well hydrated.
5. Acid reflux commonly causes this sensation in the throat. Anti-reflux medication takes 8 to 12 weeks to be effective along with lifestyle / diet changes.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
