Suggest Treatment For Acute Bacterial Sinusitis
Acute bacterial sinusitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for writing to HCM.
You seem to have a bad case of acute sinusitis which appears to be from a possible bacterial infection. The swollen lymph nodes supports the presence of an infection. Feeling of something hot in the stomach suggests associated acid reflux secondary to the infection.
In my opinion you need an ENT consultation for the following
1. Examination of the nasal cavity by nasal endoscopy to assess the mucosa and the sinuses.
2. A CT scan of the paranasal sinuses to see the involvement of the sinuses
3. A course of antibiotics ( amoxycillin and clavulanic acid), anti-inflammatory medications such as paracetamol, a long acting antacid and a nasal decongestant spray for 5 days.
If you are particular about alternative medications you may try saline water drops or sprays into the nasal cavity 3-4 times a day for a week along with steam inhalation ( with eucalyptus oil) twice daily. Green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits are advised to improve your immunity to help fight the infection. Expect a longer course of recovery in this case (more than a week)
Hope this information helps. Do let me know if you have any further questions.
