Suggest Treatment For Allergic Sinusitis
I am 31 smoker, recently I was under extreme stress
During this period I developed what looks like viral pharyngitis / sinusitis
I do suffer with allergic sinusitis in the past
Anyway during that period of sinusitis I have. Noticed small white dots in my soft palate
They are strange
One dot appear mid day and disappear when I wake up next morning
Then next day similar one but different site and again disappear next morning when I wake up
I did have 5 total over 7 days
All these without any treatment and no symptoms in my mouth
My sinusitis cleared and since then these transient whitish dots gone as well
I was smoking heavily during this time
Could this be candida ?
Does candida spots disappear overnight ?
Could be irritation from heavy smoking and the viral illness ?
I am worried about hiv although I don't do risky behaviour
Blocked minor salivary glands
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
According to your description, it seems to be either blocked minor salivary glands or pustules in the mucosa of the oral cavity.
Even though, oral candidiasis can appear during the episodes of stress, it is usually painful and doesn't disappear quickly. Hence, I'm of the opinion that it could be either blocked minor salivary glands or pustules secondary to the inflammation in the mucosa of the oral cavity.
If you could post us few images of the white spots, we can help you in a better way.
Hope this answers your query; I will be available for the follow up queries.

Unfortunately all of them has gone after 7 days , when the throat infection cleared up
They were mostly at the glossoplatal arch ( from google )
They didn't cause any discomfort
Also I was using mouth wash excessively befoythey started ( and wonder if I'd caused irritation )
Yes, excess mouth wash or the previous infection is the culprit

Hi
Thanks for writing back
Yes, the white spots could have appeared either because of the previous upper respiratory tract infection or excess usage of the mouth wash.
Hence, you are assured that the white spots you noticed earlier was not oral candida infection, but , the inflamed minor salivary glands.
The best prophylactic treatment for this is to drink frequent sips of warm water and eat plenty of drag fruits and vegetables. Avoid smoking as much as possible.
