Suggest Treatment For An Acute Ear Pain
Question: I have an acute onset of middle ear pain on the right side only. I used one of the store bought ear-syringe cleaning things and cleaned the outer ear, so Im fairly sure that isnt the issue. When trying to deal with the middle ear pain, I plugged my nose and forced pressure into the ear canals. Doing this caused my eardrum to perforate and now you can externally and audibly hear air and crackles coming from my ear when I do the same nose plug thing. I can feel a large amount of pressure and my hearing is quite diminished as well as swelling below my earlobe behind the jawbone and rate my pain a 6.5/10. I'd like to avoid going to the doc if possible and want to know how to relieve my pressure with a perforated tympanic membrane. Ive tried the "salt sock" idea, drops of olive oil and drops of a alcohol/vinegar mix.
