Suggest Treatment For Anal Fissure

Question: i had an anal fissure about 5 weeks ago. day one, very painful, minimal blood. next day, 50% pain, minimal blood. 5 days after, pain gone, no blood. no symptoms since, just anxiety it will happen again. i went in to doctor the other day because, 4.5 weeks after my fissure 'attack', and with over 3weekswith no problems related to the fissure, I sat on the toilet, and right before my bm, I farted just a little bright red blood, with what appeared to be a tiny reddish 'mass'(size of a pinhead at most). is this the scab from the fissure being 'pushed out'? told dr, she said that's normal. did a digital rectal exam on my, didn't feel anything. my 2 questions: is farting a little blood a month after a fissure normal? and 2: i think i may be 'overdoing' it with fiber . i seem to be leaking yellowish-colored mucus(not much, just enough to make me itch and angry) ive read that anal fissures can cause mucus discharge. ps: my fissure happened after poor eating, accumulated after eating 2 salted nut rolls, a pound bag of peanut M&M's, and 7 tacos...next day, XXXX!
Brief Answer:
Continue high fibre and it will heal in 6 weeks
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.
It is normal to pass blood when you pass mucus. Your history is typical for Fissure in ano.
The tag that you mention is likely to be a Sentinel tag which is normal. It develops to protect the tear called fissure.
It is good you are taking fibre and you should continue it. It is not excessive.
You should ensure that your stools are soft for six weeks as it takes that much time for it to heal.
Take care.

Thank you, Dr. XXXXXXX that sounds comforting. however, I'm a little confused. why the slight anal leakage now? i don't have pain any more from the fissure. i didn't have or notice this leakage until after my doctor gave me a digital anal exam. is the mucus-type discharge caused by the fissure, even though it was 4-5 weeks ago?
Brief Answer:
Mucus leak can be due to anal exam or medication
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX. By the effect of medicines and also induced by the digital exam it can cause mucus leakage. But it usually settles in a day or two. Mucus discharge can be due to the fissure as well. But you should worry if carries on for long. If it happens once in a while then you need not worry. To prevent a recurrence you will need to avoid constipation. Take care.
