A general surgeon might be better to see
Detailed Answer:
Hi there. I am so sorry to hear that your Nephrologist will not see you. But it may not be all that bad. I don't think they would have been able to do much for you.
Angiomyolipoma is a mass growing inside the kidney that needs to be shrunk or taken out. There are many ways to do this including
1) Embolization: Which would be done by a vascular surgeon or an interventional radiologist
2) Partial or Total Nephrectomy (removal of part of or the whole kidney). That decision is based on where the mass is located inside your kidney and how healthy your other kidney is overall (the less healthy your other kidney.. the less likely it is that they will take the whole of this one). These nephrectomies are done by surgeons. A little bit of planning is helped with by the nephrologist and you would be monitored by them through the procedure. But this is really not their bailiwick (my opinion there)
So i would go back to your primary and see if you can push to see a surgeon.
Hope this helps, feel free to follow-up
