Question: my daughter regularly gets cracks in the side of her mouth/ lips, does this indicate she is deficient in something?

Hello and thank you for your question.
This can be caused by many things. It is called angular chelitis or angular stomatitis. It can be cased by funguses, dry skin or nutritional deficiencies. I would first make sure she uses a good chap stick frequently through the day and have her take a multivitamin supplement daily. If it does not resolve then she should see a doctor and be checked for fungal infection though this is not as common as just dry skin or vitamin deficiency. Good luck and I hope she is better soon
