Question: 2 weeKS ago I was hit by a baseball in the ankle. It was to the right of the ball on the outside of the ankle. now when my ankle is extended 140 degreesit hurts
to check for what

As per your description of baseball trauma,you probably have ligamentous injury.
Such Injuries are known to cause difficulty in dorsiflexion and greater degrees of pain.
MRI is the major investigative tool in diagnosing ligament or other soft tissue injuries.
Its has excellent sensitivity to detect these.
Also an AP and lateral xray view of the involved ankle is helpful in ruling out bony injuries.
