Hello,
There are actually a wide variety of causes for bubbles or foam in the urine. They range from mild dehydration (and it's opposite - large volume of urine) to urinary tract infections, to protein in the urine as you mentioned. Without a urinalysis, it is hard to know.
I recommend you go in to the doctor and give a urine sample there. They can do a dip urine check while you are there, to check for protein and signs of infection. The doctor should then send the specimen for a fully urinalysis, and if there are signs of infection, for a culture and sensitivity test (the latter tests which antibiotics would work best).
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further help.
Please keep in mind that in most cases, the bubbles are more due to the volume of flow than to anything pathological.

Detailed Answer:
The change in the amount of foam with change in position is more likely due to change in force of the stream. If the foam was due to protein in the urine, I think it would be much less likely to change with change in position. The protein would be there regardless.
