Brief Answer:
change of drug; learn to say no.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

I think the grief of losing your partner has now turned into depression.
You feel pressured and emotionally numb. You have lost your ability to make decisions.

One can not change the realities of life. You have to face what is truth.
Life changes with time. We do not have control on some life-events.

Loss of partner is a big loss. Its difficult to get over such losses in life.

But then, you must try to get adapted to real-life situations.
Your old friend is insisting you for a sexual relationship without commitment.

You have to make the decision for this. You must do whatever you feel is right.
No one should take undue advantage of you feelings.

Regarding drugs, if citalopram did not suit you, you can discuss with your doctor about change of drug. You can switch to escitalopram or sertraline (prescription drugs). This will help you to overcome anxious and depressed feelings.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to discuss further.

Take care.
Thanks.
