Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Attacks And Hot Flashes
Question: Hello: I have anxiety attacks with hot flashes, bipolar disorder, etc. and am on depicoat once in A.M. once in P.M., zoloft once in A.M., and half a haldol in P.M. I frequently have symptoms of heartburn, stomach discomfort, nausia and one rare occasion vomitting, etc. I notice diet changes help: no spicy foods, reducing acidic foods like tomato sauce, sucking on pepermint candy, etc. Yogurt eaten in A.M. helps to ease stomach feeling "bloated/uncomfortable", but still having frequent heart-burn. What can I do without adding additional perscription medications? I take these meds right after eating and drinking a glass of water. My moods seem stable and panic attacks lessened so meds working, but what do I do about physical discomfort? Thank you.
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
You are having heaet-burn with these drugs.
In my opinion, depakote is the main drug among these which can cause heart-burn.
You can take the whole dose of depakote in night. This might help.
Other then this, you can also take OTC antacids like Alka-seltzer, prilosec OTC or nexium 24HR. These can also help.
Also drink lots of water.
Avoid lying on bed immediately after eating.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Take care.
Thanks.
