Brief Answer:
Aortic Aneurysm?
Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Are you talking about an Aortic Aneurysm? That is a weakening of the wall of the biggest blood vessel coming out of the heart and it does need to be dealt with as soon as possible to prevent rupture.
There are many ways that this can be done. A good Vascular or Cardiothoracic surgeon is the best person to go to.
Give me all the details you can about this and I can help you through it, from what i can see now is that if there is an aortic aneurysm.. it needs to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
I hope this helps,
Vinay

Yes , We understand that this is dangerous, but it seems that we are getting the run around and family Dr is not getting any reports back as to what is going on. and He is the one who found the aneurysm on a xray and ct scan. I have no pain or any other problems other then tiredness. I do have hypertension and I take medicine for this. The only info I have is what is on the discharge paper from UOM which is diagnosed with Dissecting abdominal aortic aneurysm,Dissection of aorta and I was hospitalized on the THORACIC SURGERY CARDIAC service at U O M Hospital and attending DR Bo XXXXXXX I needed to have some teeth pulled because of decay, which I had done while at UOM,was told they needed to heal before the surgery and was given some CLINDAMYCIN to take for 5 days this was on May 22,2014. I was discharged ,and told to come back on XXXXXXX 10,2014 to see Dr XXXXXXX We don't know how big the aneurysm is or where it is for sure. That is why we asked our family Dr if he has any info about this.He hasn't gotten any info from UOM or Dr XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Call UOM and get them to fax to your Doc
Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Thanks for following up. Your family doc needs to be updated on this for sure. Sometimes you have to lean on the records departments yourself. I would suggest you called the records department at UOM, give them the request and have them fax the records over to your Family Doc.
As far as a dissecting Aortic Aneurysm goes. It's the real deal, if the thing is much bigger than 5-6mm is something that you need to seriously consider getting operated upon for.
The basic problem is a weakness in the arterial wall which makes the whole aorta balloon out. Unfortunately that's where the analogy with the balloon ends.. The aorta has 3 to 4 different layers.. when they balloon out.. the layers get separated and blood can start seeping between them (sort of like water seeping through cracks in a pipe.
As blood separates out these layers.. the aorta gets weaker and weaker until one day it ruptures.
Now that's the doomsday scenario, but your not going to have to worry about that because the thing has been detected.
What you need to find out now is
1) It's size = bigger means more likely the need for surgery
2) Position = It can be in the
1) Ascending Aorta
2) Arch of the Aorta
3) Descending Aorta
4) Abdominal Aorta
Each of these positions is significant because the way good vascular surgeon would deal with even a small aneurysm would depends on which area the thing is found in.
So your on the right track. Get those records from UOM and share them with the family doc, also do keep the appointment with Dr. XXXXXXX Even if you don't end up getting treated by him, you can get answers without having to wait weeks and weeks for another vascular surgeon to get you an appointment.
I hope this helps. Sorry about the delay. I take Sundays Off, was out of town. Feel free to follow-up though and I will get back to you shortly.
