Suggest Treatment For Aortic Aneurysm
Question: Hello,
I am 58 year old male with anxiety and on meds for HBP. My BP reading on meds has been in the 120's/70's. I have noticed that my upper abdomen has been moving up and down in what appears to be in rythm with my heart in a reclined or semi reclined position. I do not smoke or drink.
Seaching the web I have found everything from it's normal, especially in thin individuals, which I am not 5'-6" 185 lbs, to abdominal aortic aneurism.
I have notice this in the passed but wrote it off to anxiety. Now I am not so certain.
What are the odds of this being an aneurism? XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Seems to be related to anxiety
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Most probably your abdominal pulsation is caused by anxiety.
Aortic aneurysm is not very common condition. It can be found in patients with uncontrolled hypertension and can persist for a long time without any complication.
It usually has no symptoms, unless there is a dissection. In this case usually there is a back pain.
If you have no complaints, I would advise you not to worry.
In case you develop a back pain, I would advise you to undergo duplex ultrasound of abdominal aora.
Hope I could help you
Wishing you good health
In case of further questions don't hesitate to ask
