Question: I am 51years old female. Diagnosed with Adult onset of Atopic dermatitis. I have numerous eosinophil in my skin tissue. I have hyper sensitivity to environmental chemicals and mocrobial allergens, and aeroallergens by my PCP's opinion. I also have problem with medications, I might be sensitive to Aantihistamine and other medications. I know i am very sinsitive to Prednisons by my experiences at the begening of my Atopy ourbreak. My doctor advised me to stop antihistamine for now, and told me to go to Allegist soon. It seems to me that my hives are gone without antihistamine faster but instead I decelopped breathig problem and back pain. Due to availability of insurance, and my finacial capacity, I am having trouble to find doctors to do more testing and help my symptoms effectively right now. Current symptoms is fatigue, loss of appetite, chest tightness, occasional urticaria. At work, I have anaphylaxis with dusty environemnt. I cannot stop working though, i don't even have epi-pen yet although Dermatologist recomended it, he cannot give it to me without Allegist consult. My PCP referred me to Allerfist but i just found out that i have to pay all further testing and visits, i cannot afford it. I feel like my condition is progresing to become more serious stage... What would be next if I am not treated from here? I am very worried because i am 51 now, i was so healthy until i developed first urticaria on my hands in December 2013. Only 4 months after my first hives, i feel like i am a sick person so fast. How much more sicknes i have to expect with Adult onset of Atopy condition if i am not treated soon?

Brief Answer: Get tested for eosinophilia Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, As you describe, you are allergic to many things, they could be food, clothes, wool, cosmetics, soap, etc. First, try to win at home. Try to avoid the things you have started to use just before the beginning of the disease. It appears that the main allergen is in your work place. Try to have a nasal protection, by a cloth, and try to cover major part of the body with the dress. Avoid using wool, and synthetic dress. Ask your officials to change you to other section, where there is less exposure to the dust and chemicals. Next comes the older things to which you would have developed allergy recently. In addition, try to find the allergen, and avoid them. Try to avoid the seafoods, as a whole, for some time, and the regular foods you find allergic by experience. As you have plenty of eosinophils at the site of the eruptions, always remind your doctor about it. For breathing problem and the back pain, if your doctor says there is chest congestion, if you do not get the epi pen, you can use the other forms like tablets etc for relief. The lack of appetite and weakness may be due to the gastric hyperacidity due to the medicines, anxiety etc. I usually prescribe, to my patient with such symptoms levocitrzine, montelekast, diethylcarbamazine citrate for eosinophilia may be for long time, triamcinolone 40mg injection, periodically. Avoiding the medicines allergic to you. You may be allergic to some antihistamines and steroids, still you can try other antihistamines ,and steroids, which are not allergic to you. It is possible. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
