Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: Hello, I just turn 32 yrs. Female 5'8 218lbs. with two emergency c sections in the past and a gallbladder removal. I had been feeling some back pain around my shoulder for about two weeks and than it went away but i started feeling a slight pressure when I breath on my front right side for almost two weeks now; so I went to the doctor n she suggested n ecg. She did the test and said everything is normal but when i went home n read the exam paper I got a lil worried. Because the pain is still on my right side and pain killers that the doc prescribed are not working. The results are as follow.
Rate 72 BPM
PR. 178 msec
QT/QTC. 386/407 msec
QRSD. 86 msec
P axis. 22
QRS Axis. 2
T Axis. 23

Interpretatíon
Sinus Rhythm - Abnormal precordial QRS contours - nondiagnostic for this age.
ABNORMAL

Should I be concerned. i never had no issues with my heart. my only medical history is asthma n anemia n was recently diagnose with anxiety. they just switch my doctor so my old doctor is no longer at that facility and the one who did my test is a new doctor that has never treated me before that day. I was told an abnormal ecg is not good. Can someone explain these results.
Thank you .. .Isa.

Brief Answer:
You need not be concerned much

Detailed Answer:
Hello there

Welcome to healthcaremagic.

I have gone through your query and ECG report .

Everything seems normal for your age

1) Heart rate -72/min (Normal ranges from 60 to 100/min)

2) PR interval - 178msec (Normal ranges from 120msec to 200msec) ---->this may indicate that your heart's conduction from atrium to ventricle is normal

3) QT/QTC interval duration - 386/407 msec (Normal ranges from 360-440 msec)-->this may indicate your ventricular conduction system is functioning normal

4) QRS duration-- 86 msec (Normal ranges from 60 to 100 msec)

5) P,QRS, and T axis values are also normal.

Sinus rhythm means that the impulses are originating from the sinus node, from where it should start...So normal..

Abnormal precordial QRS contour --> Certain variations in the QRS wave pattern that can be a normal finding in young adults, athletes, persons with anxiety or other chest ailments etc..

I would suggest you to calm yourselves as the anxiety itself make your symptoms worse.Consult your treating doctor if there's still pain for considering injection painkillers and also for 24 hour Holter ECG monitoring to rule out any arrhythmia's..

Hope this answers your query. If any further concerns, happy to answer you.

Regards
