Suggest Treatment For Belching, Bloating And Post Nasal Drip
Most likely due to laryngopharyngeal reflux.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to laryngopharyngeal reflux. It can be managed effectively by diet and exercise.
For such condition I would recommend taking proton pump inhibitors like rabeperazole and motility enhancers like domperidone for 4 weeks.
Avoid fatty , greasy and spicy foods, coffee, carbonated drinks , alcohol and smoking. Avoid lying down straight away after meals. Take food at least two hours before bed time.
Taking combination of antihistamine like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast along with this is also recommended.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
Montelukast never forget take one in the morning and loratadine one at night. Cold drinks air conditioner make me cough hard and bring sputum out white and thick. Being around people or work or social is no good for me because you never know when will start coughing and spit phlegm Diet? Well need to keep and I on this. Forget. Flovent increase post nasal drip. Flonase too. I back in flovent. But I am thinking about stopping flonase ER recently told me to use. What do you think? My important think is to stop post nasal drip because spitting clear my throat but post nasal drip start, again then I have to remove this again by cough and spit really important to stop. I only get chest tightNess with cold or flu or cold air no good I take vitamin C everyday 2000 mg. Fish oil omega 3 b12 b6 magnesium will start again. My Dr said I have asthma but never had Shor breathing good thing. I think all of this is GRD.. winter is not good for me. Thinking if warm weat her will solve this. So I asked questions here I hope you can help me. Oh I take mucinex too it is ok to use? My Dr gave me a treatment on nebulizer recently I cough and flema was out. I don't cough constantly. On the bus and train yes I do is embarrased. Cancel ultrasound appt because my cough. Waiting to stop this. Lie down yes I feel flema stuck on my throat so I sit down my Dr prescribed me with predizone recently but have side effects that scare me. How good is this. Do you think it helps with my problem? Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up.
You can continue with protonix along with motility enhancers like domperidone. If protonix is not helping then better to use rabeprazole. Your problem can be alergic primarily but gastric reflux worsens it. So taking these both will help. Taking monteleukast and loratadine helps not to get an allergic attack. So you can continue that.
You can avoid flonase and flovent if you dont have any breathing difficulty. In case of acute symptoms you can take corticostroids like methylprednisolone for a short period. Taking this for short period won't be causing any serious side effects.
Avoid irritating environment and irritating foods and drinks as much as possible.

Protonix should be taken half an hour to 1 hour before food to have better effect. Short term corticosteroids is ok to take. There won't be any side effects if taken for short duration. Flovent or flonase increase post nasal drip due to dilation of respiratory tract.
Foods you can have the one which is not causing irritation for you. Irritating foods for stomach should be avoided to decrease gastric irritation and reflux.
You can have fruits or vegetables.
Allergies can be towards cold weather or towards irritation from gastric reflux or dust or some unknown agents.

Short course of prednisolone helps in settling an acute episode.

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up.
You can go with protonix as well as montelukast and loratadine. Prednisolone will help in settling an acute episode of symptoms. So when you have severe symptoms such a short course prednisolone therapy works.
Coffee can cause gastric irritation. Otherwise it is ok. You can have black tea in moderation. Fruit juice if you tolerate well then you can take or else take whole fruits. Drinking warm water is more good. It will decrease irritation. Better to have light meals at short intervals also.
Loosing weight is good if you are having excessive weight. In such case it will help to decrease your symptoms also.
Also one more thing. Keep mouth full of water for 15 minutes and spit, in the morning after getting up and before going to sleep. This also helps to decrease phlegm build up.
Even stress can increase your symptoms. So have some stress relaxation like breathing exercise. Sit relaxed and take deep breaths. You can repeat this several times and do three times daily.
Hope this may help you.

Flovent high doze or same doze medication for post nasal drip something that stop flema with cough.
Corticosteroid (prednisolone) if used properly then there wont be problem.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
Prednisolone when used judiciously then there won't be a problem. Short term use are well tolerated. There is no drugs with out side effects. When used properly there won't be problems.
You can go on with protonix , loratadine and monteleukast. Prednisolone is for severe symptoms. So if you don't have severe symptoms then no need to take it. Flovent is also not needed if you don't have breathlessness. Just wait and watch for improvement gradually.
If there is no improvement then spirometry test and allergy test can be performed. This will help for your definite treatment. spirometry test will reveal any bronchoconstriction you have or cause of it. Allergy test will help to identify the allergy causing agent also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.

I kind of believe in you, but reading the side efects of prednisone is scaring later you have to deal with the consequences and deal with new treatments. I want to avoid this. Diabetes, swolen kegs face feet belly insomnia psiquiatric problems blurred vision. Hypertension weakness, decrease inmune system, muscle aches. Is horrible. So scaring. But you said could be allergies, I should get tested for this. May be allergy vaccine will help me no to have this anymore. No sure if is related to allergies. My breathing is ok. But if I don't spell the flemma my chest can get congested. No good. So now I will go to do my vaporizer with hot water and eucaliptus oil. Help me cough and bring the flemma out. Good think I don't cough chronically only at times. But I have to force at times to clean my lung or reflux.
Yes will continue with the rest of the medication. Prednisone hmmm. Will see. Here I explained to you better my symptoms and when happen.:) thanks for your answers and great help.
Also when AC is too cold I cough hard.

Most likely you are having allergy to cold environment , dust etc. That is why those environment makes you sick. Using monteleukast and loratadine helps to an extent against those.
As i said before corticosteroid if judiciously then its ok. It is true that you can get the side effects you mentioned if you use it continuously. For short term use methyl prednisolone is better. Budesonide is available in inhalation form. You can get inhalers with budesonide like flovent. It is ok to use that if you are tolerable with it. Inhaled corticosteroid is always better compared to oral.
Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. If continuous cough is there it can be used. But injections are not preferred for cough. It is available as cough syrups. Mucinex will help if phlegm is thicker. You can use honey and lemon juice mix as an alternative for this also. Taking vitamin C 100 mg per day is also good.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
So is allergy asthma or regular allergy. What do you think.
May be changing area will help. Like Fl may be or XXXXXXX or California.
Ok will continue with treatment on prednisone and honey lemon hot water chicken soup hot. Please answer my questions and have a good day.
Should I get a cover mask for my nose and mouth all the time? If your answer is yes. Wich one you will recommend me.
Single injection won't be enough as it is short acting.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
Single injection won't be effective as it is short acting. You can go with Prenisolone oral. Go with the same dosage and term your doctor recommended.
Asthma is caused by allergy. But there will be severe reversible constriction of airways while having an attack. That gives wheezing. If that is not there then it is not asthma. If you get any wheezing then a spirometry test should be done to rule out asthma.
You can cover your mouth and nose while going into dusty environment. Using mask N 95 is good for this. Changing into a place with clear and healthy environment is good if possible.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.

Thank you for your follow up query.
Allergy and asthma are very much related. Treatment is somewhat same also. Allergy can gradually go into asthma also. From your history i don't see asthma in you now. Like I mentioned before, those who have asthma there will be severe constriction of airways which causes wheezing when getting exposed to allergic agents. You have only mild respiratory symptoms like allergic rhinitis or allergic bronchitis.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
