Suggest Treatment For Bipolar 1 Disorder

Question: My fiancé went on a vacation to Hawaii , she stopped communicating with me for weeks I finally tracked her down she went into a melt down suffers from 1 Bi Polar mania , she has all the symptoms , I went out there to get her and take her to hospital she refused said I have a new family a group of homeless people she meet she is unstable and violent only towards me she threw a large rock at me hit me in the leg threw another rock almost hit me in the head , police said as long as she is not harming herself he could do nothing . She needs to be baker act . I don't know who her doctor was how do I get her help when I can't get near her ?

Your fiance is certainly having a bipolar 1 manic episode and needs to be brought to an emergency room. What you need to do is call 911 when you have a firm location as to where she is. The ambulance and police will arrive and take her by force if necessary to an emergency room for treatment. Continue to call 911 until she is brought to an emergency room. Be persistent. The doctors there can commit her to a psychiatric hospital if needed, which sounds likely. This is the standard way to proceed.

I did call 911 but only a police officer came and did nothing if I call 911again what do I say to dispatcher she will seem calm when an ambulance arrives will they take her no matter what if I tell the paramedics I called for help and tell them she is bi polar and unstable do I tell them she attacked me ? Hawaii seems to be a bit laid back when it comes to situations like this the police officer said its not illegal to be crazy

Tell them she assaulted you, that she has a diagnosed mental illness and needs to be brought to a hospital for evaluation. This combination of facts would be convincing enough in most jursidictions. This is the most you can do.

Ok I will do that I do remember the pharmacy where she would pick up her medication but that was a few years ago would they have her on file and see if pharmacist could get me the psychiatrist who treated her thanks you have been very helpful
