Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder And Depression

It last a few weeks or so where I just feel shitty and all I want to do is sleep. I dont think it ever lasts more than a month but a month feels like forever. That's another thing I cant seem to get under control. My sleeping habits. Its like at times I have all these ideas and theyre all running through my mind that theres no time for sleep. I cant shut my brain off. Even when I know I have to be up early. So I end up doing things all night because I have all this energy and cant stop. I feel everything is moving too slow and i have to keep moving! But then there are times where it seems like I cant get enough sleep. Im exhausted and just want to stay in bed all day. Its really hard because there are days where I cant seem to stay fully awake at work, or I just don't feel like even trying to make it to work and pretend I feel okay. I feel like im always either having the time of my life, or spending my time just going on and on about how miserable I feel. During these times I worry too much and give myself anxiety just thinking about it and then im always irritated because I just want to be left alone. I finally agreed to see my primary doctor and was put on zoloft. Well i was taken off the zoloft about 3 weeks in and switched to seroquel and ativan after a hospital visit. I have since then been reffered to a psychiatrist but have been putting it off for one reason or the other. ( mostly because it can't afford it at the moment) so here I am. Asking for advise. So my question is if seeing a psychiatrist a good idea? Should I even waste my time??
Yes you need psychiatrist opinion
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand concerns expressed by you as well as your well wishers.
I think people near to you are right in saying that all is not well.
As per the provided history it seems that you are having bipolar disorder probably bipolar II.
The second probability is Unipolar depression
In bipolar disorder people have extreme mood at a time. Sometime they feel miserable and sad and other times they have feeling of everything extremely well or condition called hypomania.
Since the condition can cause serious problem in functioning it needs treatment.
Your primary care doctor rightly asked you to get psychiatrist opinion and I think this is not the wastage of time. With right treatment you will save enough time and will have better quality of time.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
