Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder In A Child
Question: My oldest son ,now 36, had ADHD as a child and now has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disease. He can't hold down a job, and has many relationship issues, esp with me. Could it be that he had Bipolar Disease as a child. He also had dyslexia and a lot of anger issues. Did not graduate high school. He also had Growth Hormone Deficiency , and had to start receiving injections when he was five, Could all this be impacting his difficulty handling life now? Help, please. Thank you , XXXXXXX XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
Presence of ADHD in childhood is strong indicator of bipolar disorder during adulthood. It will not be wrong to say that both disorders are caused by almost similar genes and majority of ADHD patints develop bipolar in later years.
I do not think injections are associated with this but his difficulty handling life and relationships are definitely related to ADHD and bipolar disorder.
I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
