doctor
Answered by Dr. Neel Kudchadkar (59 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Sunburn : Please follow these instructions and get better.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

[1] I would ask you to apply "Silver Sulfadiazine" cream to it.
[2] I would recommend that you take "Levocetrizine" (a pill twice a day) to halt the unpleasant sensations produced by the rash.
[3] I would wait and watch for pus (yellow stuff) formation, if so, I would ask you to take a course of "Augmentin" tablets twice a day with "Lactobacillus" tablet(s) once a day. For 5 days. After breakfast and after dinner.
[4]Please click a photograph of the rash and upload it via our websites point and click features. Else mail the pic to YYYY@YYYY OR you can mail the whole thing to YYYY@YYYY with the subject line __ "Attention: Dr. Neel Kudchadkar". That's my name.
[5] Take an Advil (not more than 2 a day) if it hurts you.
[6] Your skin is sensitive. So, please use SPF 30 and above sun screens.

Get back to me. I would highly appreciate your personal opinions and views
as regarding this treatment plan for you.

I have updated with a photo. How do I go about getting the Medicines you suggested?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Neel Kudchadkar (39 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Silvadene, Xyral and Advil do not need a prescription. In most states.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

{1} "Silvadene", "SSD", "Thermazene" "SSD AF" are common company brand names of Silver Sulfadiazine. You might not need a prescription for this ointment.
You can get "Advil" over the counter too. There are some company brands called as "Xyzal", "LEVRIX" and "XYZALL" for Levocetrizine.

{2} You will need prescriptions for "Augmentin" . So, you need to see a local doctor, who will give you one.

{3} Seriously speaking Silvadene is good enough for third degree burns. I really feel and think that you can skip taking "Augmentin" and visiting a doctor in town.

{4} Keep the area clean. Check for any dirt. Wash it gently. Keep it well. I have examined the
photograph you sent to me.

{5} This, therefore, is how to get these medicines. Just go to a local drugstore and ask for Silvadene, Xyral and Advil. That's all. Really.

I know this will help you. Feel free to buy your favourite brand name.

Silvadene requires a prescription where I live. Any other substitute that is over the counter?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Neel Kudchadkar (15 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Yes. There is. And if it is not, then please see a local doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

It really depends on the state you are living in. I'll ask you to find a cream that
contains Gentamycin that can be obtained over the counter. It's called "Garamycin" or "Septotal". It's available over the counter in most countries for that matter, leave alone states in the USA.

Secondly, If you cannot get this, then ask for "Neosporin" powder. It's really good, particularly, in your case, and after examining the picture that you sent me.

I'm really sure that, at least Neosporin powder will not pose a challenge for you to find a prescription.

Finally... I would say, let's be safe and not sorry, since your rash is at an early stage and can be "doused out" with some antibiotic-- That you are finding it hard to obtain, why do you not go to a teaching hospital in your area, they would not charge as much for an out patient department case, as much as a private doctor would charge you. If even that's not possible, please see a doctor for a prescription. Yes.

As yet, we do not give out prescriptions, though we soon might have that feature in our website. I'd love to send you a prescription. We're working on that area, and it's a bit tricky since we have to obey international laws, as regards drug deliveries, audit and assignments.

So, in the near future, if you'd have any health issues, you can always login to www.healthcaremagic.com . I'd love to give you a prescription then.

Regards,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar.

PS And once you get better please use a sunscreen lotion with a minimum factor of SPF 30.
