Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
You have got a dog bite even though the dog is a pup. The international guidelines suggest that patients need to take tetanus shot along with complete rabipur vaccination at 0, 3, 7, 14, 30, 90.
Kindly visit a nearby health care center.
Take care.

I should have clarified....he did not bite me; he scratched my lip with his paw/nail. Does the above still apply? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Yes you have to take the vaccination.
Detailed Answer:
Well come back with your query.
I understood that the dog only scratched wirh paws and did not bite. But as your wound was bleeding so there is no doubt in the course of treatment but to complete the vaccination i.e. rabipur and tetanus. The rabies is one of the diseases with 100% mortality. So cannot take any chance. Start your vaccination and observe the dog for 10 days.
Take care.
