Brief Answer:
Seems to be drug reaction.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that your husband is having bleeding per ear.

Based on your clinical details, it occurs to be a drug reaction (xarelto).

It is an anticoagulant ( rivaroxaban), used for dvt (deep vein prophylaxis) for hip surgery, pulmonary embolism and cardiac problem.

Bleeding is quite is common with this medication.

I suggest you to visit an ent surgeon, get detailed ent examination, packing of bleeding site, blood tests (pt/inr and bleeding profile). you also need to visit your regular treating cardialogist for adjusting the dosage of this drug.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
