Suggest Treatment For Blister On Back With History Of Back Surgeries

Question: I've had three back surgeries and has left both of my legs with no feeling's last night I discovered that I have a bister as big as the back of my heal. it has not busted yet, and I would like to know what to do about it. I've never seen one this big. should I go head and relieve the pressure on it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for consulting HCM. The area under a blister is sterile. When you open it up you can introduce infection to the irritated skin underneath. The longer you can leave the top on a blister without opening it up the longer the skin underneath has to heal up and be at less risk for infection. Eventually it will open up on its own. If you see any signs of infection like redness or pus in or around the blister see your doctor as soon as possible. I always recommend that my patients with neuropathy in their feet wear thick socks and shoes all the time (except for sleeping) to avoid injury to the feet. I hope this heals up and resolves soon.
