Suggest Treatment For Bloating And Stomach Cramps
Diet And Lifestyle, Likely IBS
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
i read your question and understand your concern. Bloating and cramps in stomach with no other symptom like diarrhea or fever etc is likely a functional bowel. Weight gain adds to it. Lifestyle sedentary factors are also a role here.
A good start is always to do exercise on regular basis. 30 minutes of jogging is a best way to combat these issues.
If this bloating and cramping is a continuous thing for longer periods then i would suggest a little work up for ruling out other etiologies like intolerances to lactose or gluten.
Avoid dairy products and try gluten free diet for a while and see if it helps.
In women of menstruating age, these cramps and stomach bugs may be the underlying genitourinary tract trouble like vaginitis, cervicitis or PID etc as they also present with this cramp and bloating.
Start exercising, stop using dairy products, sweets like chocolates, prefer omega 3 and 9 fatty acids products only, focus on fibrous diet, take minimal of 8 glasses of water 250 ml each ( called judicious water intake) and make sure that you comply with the bowel habits, train them by following of strict routine of diet and defecation timings.
5 lbs can be easily managed with good lifestyle and there is nothing better than exercise.
Take some antispasmodics meanwhile for the bloating relief and if the issue persists then seek a gastroenterologist for evaluation of IBS and other etiologies.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
May the odds be ever in your favour.

Shigellosis likely, feco oral transmisison
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back!
Now that you mentioned your sons history of shigellosis. The connection to your recent gastric discomfort is little more explaining as shigellosis is easily transmissible by feco oral route and your throwing up feeling may be explained by it alone.
Take some prophylactic antibiotic for shigellosis. Avoid antimotility agents because they have the potential to worsen symptoms and may predispose to toxic dilation of the colon.
Clear liquids followed by a low residue, lactose-free diet are recommended until symptoms of shigellosis resolve. Focus on electrolytes and take some symptomatic relief.
rest your habits of lifestyle and exercise is good and encouraging. Keep doing it. Odds of IBS are less likely after shigellosis connection.
Take care.

Take lactose. no worries
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Hardly a few days maximum five and the shigellosis is out of the system. Also lactose is fine. The kid can take it. I was worried about IBS before you mentioned shigella. So no problem with lactose intake. It would have been in IBS though. But that is not the likelihood any more.
Take care.
