Suggest Treatment For Bloating, Nausea And Constipation

default
Posted on Sat, 25 Apr 2015
Question: For several days/to a week I have been experiencing bloating, nausea, constipation, and fatigue/discomfort. No real changes in diet. Some SOB on exertion but I am obese and this is not necessarily new. I do take Xanax occasionally for anxiety disorder. Wondering what I can do to relieve these symptoms. My physiatrist says most likely due to reaction to severe acute stress in my life.

Brief Answer:
I agree with your doctor. Below: Some general advises that might help

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thank you for posting your question to HCM,

From your description I would have to say that I agree with your doctor for the most probable cause of your symptoms. Stress do give all of those bothering problems.
The best cure is to try to minimize stress but in our society we all know how difficult that is.
Checking the medicines you have been taking, looks like you are taking the right ones to help with the symptoms as well.
Some other advises I would recommend are:
-- Drink plenty of fluids. Dehydration is very common, especially if you are obese, and it is one of the most common causes of fatigue.
-- Eating less will not probably be enough, but eating healthy may make a big difference. Adding lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet, eating often but little amounts, avoiding foods that make your stomach worse, avoiding alcohol and fluids with sparkles.
-- Adding physical activity...choose to walk when possible, if possible do it 20-30 min fast walking at least 5 times/week.

If all these symptoms are not better but going worse, like vomiting or diarrhea, fever, ect...then consider seeing your doctor again. He may do some blood tests to check for anemia, thyroid problems,or other conditions that give fatigue.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarification. If not, please kindly close and rate the question.
