Brief Answer:
Surgery to remove kidney, procedure for stones

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like to state that the right kidney will undoubtedly have to be removed. The right kidney can only result in further complications if left in place, as it has lost all function, there is no purpose it is serving. But it is also important for your daughter's doctors to assess her general condition and to decide when the time is right to operate on her.

As for the left kidney, the stones that are present will only continue to grow in size and so they will have to be treated. The reduced function of the left kidney is most probably due to the multiple stones, and so by treating these stones we should be able to attain better functionality.

But, it is also important to note that the kidney would best be left untouched, yet the stones will have to be treated. For this reason there are many such procedures to help with lithotripsy (breaking of the stones) like:
-Electro shock-wave lithotripsy (ESWL)
-Percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PCNL)

I hope I have succedded in answering your questions in a manner best understood by you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.
