Suggest Treatment For Boil Inside Left Nostril

Question: I am suffering from internal Boil on my left nostrill. I have minor fever and body pain. Pl advise whether this drug is useful.
Also suggest dose and duration.
I am a diabetic patient.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. This is a cellulitis due to the vestibulitis (furuncle or boil in the nose).

2. You may start with Amoxicillin + clavalanate 625 mg twice a day.

3. However I recommend that you seek immediate medical advice.

4. This ares (comprising the tip of the nose and the upper lip) is known as the dangerous area of the face as unlike the rst of teh face, the blood drains into the eye and brain before it goes back to the heart. Hence infections can spread rapidly.

5. If your blood sugar levels are not under control, immediate admission for iv antibiotics is advised. if your blood sugar levels are under control you can start oral medications but only after a doctor examines you. Check for improvement in 48-72 hours, other wise get admitted for treatment.
