Suggest Treatment For Boil On Buttock
Question: This question is in regards to a BOIL on my buttock cheek. Around a week ago I started getting pain in my right buttock and noticed a boil forming. I have never had one of these previously . It started growing and formed a puss. It is extremely painful so I was advised by the doctor that I could pop it with a needle or wait to see if it pops itself . I went home and decided to pop it myself. Now since then the pain is too much that I am unable to even sit and the boil is sti there but without the puss head ( white liquid ) . I have applied antibacterial cream over it but still the pain is too much. I want this to go away. What should I do in terms of my next step of action against this ??
Brief Answer:
Need for oral medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi
You seem to have developed an abscess following folliculitis over the gluteal region.
It is very common for a common follicular infection in this region to flare up and form an abscess in this area.
This can cause swelling due to pus accumulation in the area and is very painful.
You might need to be started on oral antibiotics along with anti inflammatory agents so as to control the further spread of the infection.
You can start intake of tablet paracetamol two to three times a day.
You should see your local doctor soon so that you can be started on oral antibiotics soon after proper examination of the area .
