Brief Answer:
Can be due to muscle stiffness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Bone edema usually subsides with rest. The persistent pain the area can be due to low levels of calcium or vitamin D3 or associated muscle stiffness. She needs to continue with the calcium and Vitamin D3 supplements prescribed and start with physiotherapy exercises to improve the tone of muscles in the area.
I hope this answers your query.
