Suggest Treatment For Bone Tuberculosis
In May 2003 as I was concerned about the cut mark where the bone piece was missing due to biopsy ,I had done complete MRI of the same place and referred to the same doctor and he has clearly given that I MRI is ok and I have recovered.
Question
As per the attachment document as the page 4 which is "impression" of MRI report it states that " in favour of focal chronic osteomyelitis". but doctor has not mentioned anything related to this nor I have used any medicines for this.
Again my insurance company is asking why was this "osteomyelitis "mentioned and whether I am ever treated for this symptom?
These are due to old treated bone tuberculosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query and the report uploaded. I have gone through it.
After going through your query, I concluded that you were treated few years back for multi focal bone tuberculosis in which tibia was also found to have bone tuberculosis. Bone tuberculosis is itself a chronic osteomyelitis.
Your MRI report shows in favour of focal chronic osteomyelitis. It was due to old tubercular lesion. Even after complete treatment these lesions will remain forever. Your doctor is right that MRI is OK as he knows that these changes in MRI will remain forever.
You can say to your company that you were treated for chronic tubercular osteomyelitis meaning you was treated for chronic osteomyelitis cause of which was tubercular infection. You can discuss with your doctor about it.
Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help.
Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
