Suggest Treatment For Breathing Difficulty And Pain In The Upper Chest Area

Question: My 5 year old daughter was hit in the upper chest and throat with a boogie board in the pool. The board was under the water and shot at her. She had some pain but difficulty breathing and was able to eat dinner. Any cause for concern? This happened about 8 hours ago. I am concerned the throat could swell internally and obstruct breathing while sleeping. Thank you in advance

Brief Answer:
Please get her evaluated by a pediatrician, most likely musculoskeletal pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the detail and do understand your concern.
As there is no problem in swallowing,in view of breathing difficulty with history of blunt trauma (hit by board);most likely it is musculoskeletal pain and her digestive tract appears to be normal.
The musculoskeletal pain can gets aggravated by breathing, movement of injured part or with cough. Here usually there is no difficulty in eating.

I request you to get her clinically evaluated by a pediatrician to find out the exact cause of pain and thus management accordingly.

Wishing for your child's good health.
I shall be glad to help you out if you have any more query.
