Suggest Treatment For Broken Bridge Attached To Teeth
I have a query regarding my mother. Her age is 58. She has a bridge of three tooth caps, out of which 2 had broken and bridge is attached with only 1 tooth. As she is not having molars, she has to chew the food from front teeths.
Dentist suggest to apply denchur. Can you suggest something better in this case.
I have attached X-ray for your reference.
Repeat the bridge, RCT, dentures or implants
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
I have gone through the radiogrpahic image which you have uploaded.
As far as the broken bridge is concerned, as per the Orthopantomograph which you have uploaded, it shows the following details.
1. there is a broken bridge in relation to left canine region and there is infection in the root apex of the same tooth.
2. There are small root pieces in the left 2nd molar region.
3. Radioopaque masses in relation to the lower left second premolar and right first and second molar.
4. Missing teeth in relation to right and left molars.
Nothing to be panic,
These are the treatment plan for your problems
1. The broken bridge can be replaced with a new bridge and the left canine has to be root canal treated.
2. The root pieces has to be removed in relation to the left 2nd molars
3. The radioopaques masses can be a periapical cemental dysplasia or a enostosis. This should be removed if you are going to get the missing teeth replaced with implants. If you are getting the teeth replace with dentures then, need to worry about these masses. Directly you can go for the dentures.
4. The missing teeth can be replaced either with dentures(removable) or with the help of implants(fixed).
I advise you to go for implants than dentures since the implants are fixed form of prosthesis rather than regular dentures(these are removable).
I hope i have answered your query. If any queries are there reply me back.
Take care.
Thank you so much for the detailed review.
Is implant a good option here, i am just concerned about the age of my mother (58).
Can you also suggest, if there is any best option in the category of implant.
Thanks.
can go for implants, consult a oral implantologist/maxillofacial surgeon
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feed back.
You can go for implant if you need a fixed prosthesis. For this you need to consult a oral implantologist or oral maxillofacial surgeon and get it evaluated. You can go for the implants but before that you need to get the root piece and the radioopaque masses removed and then you can go for implants.
What I am practicing is Nobel bio care and Neo biotec implant system which has a good success rate. At the age of 58, you can go for implants unless you have sufficient bone support.
So consult an imlantologist and take an opinion.
I hope i have answered your query. If any queries are there reply me back.
Take care.
